This is a quick sketch of one of the main character’s from ‘I Live In A Robot’. His name is Six-Face. I don’t think the style of the book will be quite like this though.
I’ve been working on the second draft of the script and although changing quite a lot from the original, I’m really happy with how it’s going. The first draft was quite complicated and lacked a solid direction. It had a lot of characters who’s roles within the story weren’t well defined and lots of sub plots that didn’t really seem to be going anywhere. I think I was just trying to be clever for the sake of it. Silly me.
The story is now a lot clearer and straight forward but still very fun and exciting and I think I owe a lot of thanks to DC Comics’ animated shows and films for that. I’ve been watching a lot of them recently (particularly Justice League Unlimited) and I’ve been amazed at how they manage to fit a full and exciting story into such a short running time. Their stories are short and simple but contain fully realised and diverse characters which keeps the show interesting.
I keep reminding myself that this is my first time trying something like this on such a large scale. I’m going to keep the plot simple and work on making the characters believable. This is perfect for me as I feel concepts and plotting are my strong points when it comes to storytelling and character development is definitely one of my weaker areas. So I’ll get to build on that.
